CEREC® Technology

CEREC® dentistry is the easy and fast way to receive crowns, inlays, onlays, veneers, and more. It can even be used during a dental implant procedure to provide a natural-looking tooth, often in just a few minutes!

When Do I Need a Crown?

Crowns are a great option when a tooth doesn’t have enough strength or support for a filling. When there is discoloration, damage, shape, wear, and tear, or deterioration in size, a crown can help to restore the tooth to a normal healthy state again.

What is CEREC® Technology?

A groundbreaking method, this technology is utilized by Dr. Larry Grzegorzewski to restore damaged teeth, oftentimes in just one visit.

CEREC® restorations can be done in just one appointment, allowing you to leave our office with natural, beautiful, and strong healthy teeth again!

The best way to get started is to meet with our team and decide what is the best option and method for restoring your teeth. We will need to determine if you are a good candidate for this kind of procedure.

CAD/CAM software is used to create a 3D image of your tooth and the “milling unit” creates a customized dental restoration using this image.

What is even better is that this dental technology is not just for crowns. It can be used for dental implants, veneers, onlays, inlays, bridges, and more. This breakthrough technology can cut the time down on many dental procedures and make them much easier on the patient. CEREC® cosmetic procedures, coupled with orthodontics like Invisalign or braces, could really make your smile amazing!

The Process:

This dental technology makes the process and procedure of many dental applications much easier and can be achieved in easy steps.

The Steps Include:

  • Dental examination to evaluate what type of restoration is needed for the tooth.
  • Anesthetic is applied to prepare for any decay removal or other items that may cause discomfort before beginning the procedure.
  • Optical Impressions are taken with a powdery substance that is applied to the tooth, and digital photography will capture the picture.
  • A 3D model will be developed via high-tech software and dental technology. Once the plan for the process is finalized, then the milling machine will produce the ceramic covering for your damaged tooth or teeth.
  • Any final bonding will take place to fit the material to the teeth and adjustments that need to be made will be completed.

After the Procedure

The ceramic application made to your teeth by this technological method should last for at least several years. You will need to keep up with healthy oral hygiene, such as daily flossing, brushing, and routine cleanings with your dentist. If you tend to grind your teeth or chew hard food, then it’s possible your ceramic application will deteriorate faster. Make sure to listen to your dental provider and follow all recommended steps when it comes to caring for your newly restored teeth.
